Built Around Your Routine

A bathroom remodel contractor that handles the whole room

Bathroom remodeling in Pittsburgh often means working with older homes, tight footprints and plumbing that has been patched more than once. We start by looking at how you use the room, then plan a layout that fixes what bothers you, whether that is a cramped tub, too little storage or a fan that never clears the steam.

As a design-build contractor, we plan and build your bathroom renovation with one crew and one contract. That includes walk-in shower installation, freestanding tubs, tile, lighting and custom vanities built by our own carpenters, so the details fit your space instead of a catalog size.

  • ✓ Full remodels, master suites and tub-to-shower conversions
  • ✓ Walk-in and curbless showers with proper waterproofing
  • ✓ Custom vanities and storage built in-house
  • ✓ Permits and inspections handled for you

The Process

How a bathroom remodel comes together

Most bathroom remodels take a few weeks of construction once materials are on site, and we set your schedule with your estimate.

  1. 1

    Design & Selections

Layout, fixtures, tile, vanity and lighting, chosen and ordered before any demolition starts.

  2. 2

    Demolition & Rough-In

We open the room, fix any hidden damage, and run new plumbing, wiring and venting for inspection.

  3. 3

    Waterproofing & Tile

Moisture barriers and backer board go in first, then floor and wall tile are set and grouted.

  4. 4

    Fixtures & Walkthrough

Vanity, toilet, shower glass and trim are installed, then we walk the finished room with you.

Shower vs. Tub

Walk-in shower or bathtub: which fits your home?

A tub-to-shower conversion is one of the most requested bathroom upgrades. For most master baths a walk-in shower is the better daily fit, as long as the home keeps at least one tub somewhere else. Here is how the two compare.

Walk-In Shower Bathtub
Daily use Quick, easy showers with room to move Best for soaking and bathing small children
Accessibility Low or no threshold, easy to step in Requires stepping over a tub wall
Space Makes a small bathroom feel larger Takes up more floor space
Resale Popular in master suites if a tub remains elsewhere Keep at least one in the home for families
Construction Needs careful slope, drain and waterproofing work Simpler install, especially in an alcove
Cleaning Fewer corners and ledges with frameless glass Freestanding tubs need space around them to clean

Master Bathroom Remodels

What a master bathroom remodel includes

A master bathroom remodel goes well beyond new tile. Most of the work that decides how the room performs happens behind the walls and under the floor, before a single fixture goes in.

For a luxury bathroom renovation, we plan every piece together: where the shower and tub sit, how the plumbing reaches them, where storage goes and how moisture leaves the room. Getting those decisions right is what keeps a beautiful bathroom working for years.

Layout & plumbing

Moving or upgrading drains and supply lines to fit the new floor plan.

Shower & tub

Walk-in or curbless showers, benches, glass and freestanding soaking tubs.

Vanity & storage

Double vanities and built-in storage made by our own carpenters.

Tile & ventilation

Waterproofed tile surfaces and an exhaust fan sized to clear the steam.

Questions

Bathroom remodeling FAQs

How long does bathroom remodeling in Pittsburgh take?

Most bathroom remodels take a few weeks of construction once materials are on site, and a full master bathroom with layout changes typically takes longer. Design, selections and ordering come first, and special-order tile, vanities or glass can add lead time. Hidden damage and inspections can also affect the schedule, so we set a realistic timeline with your estimate.

Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom in Pennsylvania?

It depends on the scope. Cosmetic work and like-for-like fixture swaps usually do not need a permit, but moving plumbing, adding circuits, changing walls or adding a new shower generally does under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code. Permits are issued by your local township, borough or city, and we handle the paperwork and inspections for you.

Is it better to have a tub or shower for resale value?

It is generally best to keep at least one bathtub in the home, since many families with young children want one. If your home has more than one bathroom, replacing the master bath tub with a well-built walk-in shower is a popular upgrade that buyers appreciate.

Do walk-in showers lower home value?

No. A walk-in shower usually adds appeal because it looks clean, feels spacious and is easier to step into. The main exception is removing the only tub in the house, which can narrow the pool of interested buyers.

Are curbless showers a bad idea?

Not when they are built correctly. A curbless shower needs the floor sloped properly toward a high-capacity drain, a continuous waterproofing membrane and smart showerhead placement so water stays where it belongs. When those steps are skipped, water can escape and damage the subfloor, which is why the installer matters.

What are the must-haves for a master bathroom remodel?

Most homeowners want a double vanity, plenty of built-in storage, good task lighting at the mirrors and durable waterproof flooring. A roomy walk-in shower, often with a bench, is usually the centerpiece, and upgraded ventilation protects all of it from long-term moisture damage.

What is the hardest part of a bathroom remodel?

The hardest part is usually what is hidden behind the walls and under the floor. Opening a bathroom can reveal old water damage, mold, outdated wiring or weakened subflooring that has to be fixed before new work goes in. Relocating plumbing and waterproofing a custom shower also take careful, experienced work to prevent leaks later.

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Pittsburgh?
