Authorized StruXure Dealer

Your StruXure dealer in Pittsburgh, installing statewide

A StruXure louvered roof is a powder-coated aluminum pergola with motorized blades overhead. Tilt them open for full sun and fresh air, angle them to cut glare, or close them flat to shed rain. Water runs into hidden gutters and down through the posts, so the space below stays dry.

We are a factory-authorized dealer for every StruXure product, from the StruXure Pergola X to custom-sized freestanding and attached systems. Because we are also a design-build contractor with more than 20 years of experience, we handle the patio, footings, electrical and finish carpentry around the pergola too.

Louvered vs. Fixed Roof

How a louvered roof compares to a fixed-roof cover

A fixed roof or covered patio gives you the same shade all day. An adjustable louvered roof lets you choose how much sun, air and rain protection you want. Here is how the two compare.

StruXure Louvered Roof Fixed-Roof Pergola or Covered Patio
Sun & shade Open, angled or closed on demand One level of shade all day
Rain Closes watertight at the push of a button Solid roofs stay dry, open beams do not
Drainage Hidden gutters route water down the posts Exterior gutters or runoff off the roof edge
Light & airflow Open blades let heat escape and light in Solid roofs can feel darker and trap heat
Look Clean, modern powder-coated aluminum Can match traditional wood or roofline styles
Upkeep Rinse the finish and clear debris from gutters Wood needs regular staining or sealing

Before You Install

What to plan before a StruXure install

A louvered pergola is a permanent structure, so what sits under it matters as much as the roof itself. We look at your patio or deck, where the posts will land and how power will reach the motor before anything is ordered.

This is also the time to think about extras. Many homeowners pair the roof with Fenetex motorized screens to block bugs, wind and low sun, turning the space into an outdoor room.

Base & footings

A solid slab, deck or new footings sized for the posts and loads.

Power & controls

Wiring for the motor, remote, app control and optional rain sensor.

Attached or freestanding

Mounted to the house wall or standing on its own posts.

Screens, lights & heat

Fenetex screens, built-in LED lighting and heaters for cooler evenings.

Questions

StruXure louvered roof FAQs

Are louvered pergolas worth it?

For homeowners who use their patio often, yes. A fixed cover gives you one level of shade, while a louvered roof lets you switch between full sun, angled shade and full rain protection whenever you want. That flexibility means you can use the space on far more days.

Do louvered pergolas keep the rain out?

Yes. When a StruXure roof is closed, the blades seal together and act like small gutters. Rainwater flows into channels in the frame and down through the posts, so the area underneath stays dry.

What are the downsides of a louvered pergola?

A louvered roof is a bigger investment than a basic wood pergola or shade sail, and it needs a solid base and an electrical connection. Motorized parts also need simple upkeep, such as clearing leaves and debris from the gutter channels now and then. For most people who spend real time outside, the added control is worth it.

Can a louvered pergola handle snow?

An engineered aluminum system like StruXure is built to handle Pennsylvania weather when it is sized and anchored correctly. We plan the footings and attachment for your site, and we walk you through the manufacturer’s guidance on louver position and clearing heavy snow or ice.

How long do louvered pergolas last?

A quality powder-coated aluminum pergola is built to last for decades. Aluminum does not rot, rust or warp the way wood or basic steel can, and the finish only needs an occasional rinse. Keeping the gutters and moving parts clear helps the motor and blades work smoothly for years.

What is the best material for a pergola?

Wood offers a warm, traditional look but needs regular staining or sealing. Extruded aluminum is the better choice for low maintenance and long life, and it is the material that makes motorized louvers, built-in lighting and screens possible.

Why use a factory-authorized StruXure dealer in Pittsburgh?

An authorized StruXure dealer is approved by the manufacturer to sell and install its systems. We are factory-authorized for all StruXure products and install statewide, and as a design-build contractor we also handle the footings, patio, electrical and carpentry around your pergola.

How much does a StruXure pergola cost?

Every StruXure pergola is quoted after we visit the site and review the scope with you. Contact us to schedule a consultation and we’ll give you a written estimate.
